About Us
Our greenhouse and garden center covers 50,000 square feet, which features a beautiful sunroom, a large retail greenhouse, bulk bins, and an expansive tree and perennial area. What sets us apart from the competition is our growing program. Our motto is “we know it because we grow it,” which is true. We grow 90% of the annuals we sell from seed and much of the trees, shrubs, and perennials. Our operation covers 35 acres of land and consists of approximately 35,000 containers. Our staff of 50+ individuals shares your passion for planting and the outdoors. Most of our staff are college-educated, professional growers with decades of experience. Here at Landsburg’s, we treat every project with the same attention to detail and care that we would for projects at our own homes.
Landsburg Landscape Nursery offers a variety of landscaping services in addition to the greenhouse and garden center, including landscape design, installations and restorations, irrigation services, and landscape maintenance. We operate 10-12 landscape construction crews and 2-3 landscape maintenance crews that service the Brainerd Lakes Area and central Minnesota.

Our History
Roger and Marie Landsburg left their jobs in education and started Landsburg Landscape Nursery in 1976 at a small location in Baxter, MN. In 1979, the business moved to this location on Highway 371 and has been growing ever since. What started as a small operation with only a few employees has grown to over 50 employees in any given season. Both Roger and Marie had a love for plants and growing, which was also passed down to their son. John has been involved in the business from a very young age and received a degree in horticulture, landscaping, and nursery management. Tina Landsburg joined the family business in 1994 after John and Tina were married. Roger Landsburg sadly passed away in 2023, and Marie has been enjoying retirement and spending time with family. John and Tina now own and manage the business.

Community
Landsburg Landscape Nursery is committed to giving back to our community. Over the years we have given many thousands of dollars to a wide range of causes. We are a strong supporter of Habitat For Humanity which works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. Over the years, Landsburg Landscape Nursery has donated the material, skill and labor to landscape many homes in the Brainerd Lakes Area.
We are big believers in promoting the great outdoors by offering our time and talent in speaking to groups such as garden clubs and sportsman’s groups, as well as lakeshore associations where we help with lakeshore restorations to benefit water quality. We have contributed funds, material, skill and labor to help with the construction of the Gull Lake Sailing School and Family Center, as well as the Northland Arboretum, which is becoming the most broad spectrum arboretum north of the Twin Cities.
Supporting the youth in our community is also a focus. We made a generous monetary donation plus labor, skill and materials to the construction and remodel of the YMCA. We have consistently provided scholarship funds to those attending the University of MN Crookston and Central Lakes College, have been a supporter of Grad Blasts, and have given many school tours of our facility.
Add to that a list of more than 30 charities, benefits and fundraisers to which we donate annually, such as The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, The Brainerd Lakes Veterans Center and individuals facing hardship. Our participation in the community also includes serving on several boards and we are members of such organizations as the local and state Chamber of Commerce, MN Nursery and Landscape Association, Rotary and National Federation of Independent Business.
We are proud to have been a part of this community for over 50 years and feel strongly about supporting the people and organizations that make the Brainerd Lakes Area so special.
