Landsburg Landscape Nursery is in search of honest, dependable landscape construction crew members to install our award-winning landscape designs, and also positive, results-driven & enthusiastic foremen to lead the crew.

As crew leader you will be responsible for the installation of a wide variety of landscapes and supervision of a 2-3 person crew. Crew leaders must be able to take direction, and then coordinate your crew to ensure that the job is completed at a quality level with a quick, steady pace. You will assess a site upon arrival and make professional decisions, plan and delegate tasks, identify priorities, motivate crew, and solve problems that arise with critical thinking skills. Assistants will help the crew leader accomplish these goals.

Applicants should have strong communication, organizational and time management skills, a positive can-do attitude, a strong work ethic, and the desire to be part of a great team.  Education and/or experience is helpful, and a current Driver’s license with clean, acceptable driving record is required for crew leaders.  We will provide on-the-job training!

Wages are commensurate with knowledge and experience. Training is provided. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, performance bonuses and paid vacation.

Growers on our team will help with the growth and maintenance of our plants through proper watering, fertilizing, pest control, spacing, sanitation and other horticultural techniques to ensure optimal crop performance.  Applicants should have strong communication and creative thinking skills, organizational and time management skills, a positive can-do attitude, a strong work ethic, and the desire to be part of a great team.

What makes you want to stay at our business?  This is my 4th season with Landsburg, however I have been working in the landscape industry for 20 years.   LLN is a friendly, family-based company where I know that hard work and dedication will always be appreciated.  

What does your average day look like?  The best part is there is no average day! No boring, mundane routine; each day is as unique as the next. 

Tell me in just a few sentences about you and what you like most about what you do.  I love the variety in tasks.  I could be working retail, on the job site or drawing and writing bids all in the same day.  Our managers, foreman and a vast majority of our support staff have landscape and/or horticulture degrees, are serious about continuing education and have multiple years of industry experience.

How does your time at LLN differ from the other landscape companies for which you’ve worked?  I’ve had the opportunity to work for some great employers in my career, however, working at LLN has allowed me to broaden my horizons by presenting me with a range of worksite challenges that have required me to become a better designer, estimator and  all around industry professional.  

What do you like best about working in the Brainerd Lakes area?  After having lived in southern MN for 18 years I was thrilled to move back to an area where the fishing, hunting, camping and hiking that my family loves is so readily accessible.  In addition to that, I had never dreamed that the area had such a multitude of stunning landscaping opportunities.  It is an amazing place to be a designer.  

What is your favorite part of working at LLN?  My coworkers.  I have never been surrounded by so many experienced, knowledgeable and driven industry professionals.  What one of us doesn’t know another does, and we are constantly helping and learning from each other.  The staff is the backbone of LLN and they are without peer.
